FARM ACCOMMODATION
Experience Overberg hospitality on this 250 year old wool, down, wheat and dairy farm.
A string of outbuildings that once housed the blacksmiths’ forge, the school room and the wind-powered farm generator, have been turned into a Guesthouse for overnight visitors. The three rooms at Halfaampieskraal sleep six people – there’s one double room and two with two extra-length twin beds. Each have their own spacious private bathrooms, found in stylish lean-to's added to the back of the building (as in so much of the rest of the farm) and the solid clay walls are more than 90cm thick in places. In spite of that, the rooms are remarkably cosy, since they’ve been plastered with naturally insulating straw and manure, and of course whitewashed.
You will be welcomed with warm hearted hospitality and home cooking. From arrival, emphasis is placed on individual comfort. Halfaampieskraal is available on Dinner, Bed & Breakfast basis.
Vast rolling hills and wheat fields provide an ever changing kaleidoscope of colours, a paradise for landscape photographers and hikers.
Under an hour's drive from Arniston, Hermanus, Swellendam, Cape L'Agulhas and Greyton.
